Making a house a home

Where to start! - Well after what seems like forever away from the blogging seat I've finally found a small pocket of time to update this blog.
For quite a few months we'd been searching for a new renovation/home project and have finally found it!
An old railway cottage tucked away in a small village in the Worcestershire countryside. We collected the keys about 4 weeks ago and since that moment have been non-stop juggling work, renovating and fitting some sleep somewhere in the mix there! Here's a little sneak peak of what's happened so far...
P.S. for any "Thomas the Tank Engine" fans this is the official Gordon's Hill!
  • The best bit about this renovation is everything we're learning - how to demolish, re-wire, plaster, plumb, lay wooden flooring and even that yes you can infact paint UPVc windows! My next task; is painting tiles a good idea? Watch this space. The million ikea trips are also a particular highlight of mine!

  • The not so good bits - having sandpaper for hands, having dinner at 11pm and discovering painters tape sucks after you've painted a nice wall -_-

After 4 solid weeks of demolishion we've finally started putting the cottage back together again. We've still got a way to go but hopefully my next up date will be of the finished article!
